Gli abitanti delle città riconoscono ai boschi urbani e periurbani un ruolo rilevante per la qualità della vita e il benessere. Tuttavia, questi popolamenti differiscono dai boschi in senso stretto per alcune caratteristiche peculiari tipicamente legate al contesto, alla pressione antropica, alle richieste dei fruitori. L'articolo introduce alcuni elementi specifici utili per riconoscere e descrivere queste aree boscate. Gli indirizzi selvicolturali e gestionali, così come gli aspetti sociali e ambientali riferiti a questi beni di interesse pubblico pongono obiettivi complessi sostenibili nella gestione del territorio urbano.

Gerson ainsi hanté par cette antonomase de la vetula sortilega est un jalon significatif dans l'élaboration et la représentation du personnage de la vetula; il en balise aussi l'environnement textuel et le cadre chronologique.

Nello scenario contemporaneo di perdita di valori identitari, culturali e comunitari, questa nota propone alcune riflessioni sul ruolo e sul significato degli alberi monumentali. La permanenza nel tempo e nello spazio di un albero monumentale può essere garantita attraverso azioni di tipo legislativo, ma anche, necessariamente, attraverso una strategia di azioni di valorizzazione finalizzate al riconoscimento dei grandi alberi come patrimonio naturale e storico e come componenti di lettura e ricchezza del paesaggio. Si sottolinea quindi l'importanza del quadro legislativo di riferimento ma anche la necessità di processi di partecipazione della collettività e di progetti di pianificazione e gestione del paesaggio e delle sue componenti di valore naturale, storico e sociale.

Previous research highlighted that the desire for neighborhood improvement is an antecedent of the citizens' involvement in green urban areas maintenance. Nevertheless, the topic of civic participation in the maintenance of green areas is not yet well developed in the literature and a link with local legislation is missing. We investigate the intention of participation in such maintenance through a web-based experiment. We hypothesize that stimuli of poor (vs. good) maintenance will be associated with a higher intention of contributing to the upkeep of green areas following the administrative barter law. The administrative barter is a law approved in Italy, which gives citizens the possibility of a reduction of local taxes in exchange for their involvement in the improvement of the territory. One hundred ninety-six participants (M age = 33.81) were assigned randomly to good maintenance condition (n = 100) or poor maintenance condition (n = 96). The level of maintenance was manipulated through photographs of a neighborhood depicting good or poor maintenance of the urban green ornamentation. Results pointed out that people showed a greater willingness to engage in the improvement of green urban areas in the poor condition as compared to the good condition, according to the administrative barter law. This study suggests that local legislation may provide an incentive fostering citizens' involvement in green urban areas maintenance.

Mediterranean stone pine reforestations are common characteristics of the Italian Tyrrhenian coast, which mostly maintain uniform and monolayered stand structures. However, improving structural diversity is an effective climate change adaptation strategy in forest management. The aim of this study was to implement a methodology which allows distinct reforested areas such as a single green infrastructure to be managed according to the surrounding land use and the characteristics of the forest stands. 240 hectares of Mediterranean stone pine forests located along a 16 km strip of the Lazio coast (Central Italy) were mapped. Twelve attributes describing the pine stands and showing possible constraints for future management decisions were associated to each forest patch. A hierarchical cluster analysis was performed to group the pinewood patches according to their similarity level and five different groups were identified. For each group, different silvicultural methods were proposed to guide the compositional and structural evolution of the stands, in order to make them suitable for providing services required locally and increasing overall diversity at landscape scale. The results of the study highlight how coastal land uses can offer effective inputs to differentiate the management of forest systems and therefore achieve greater variety and resilience in the landscape over time. This approach is particularly useful in the case of very homogeneous stands such as the stone pine reforestations under study.
